Twin-Engine Trawler kept under Cover!
This is an outstanding example of the best from CHB. She was under covered moorage for 27 years in Olympia, followed by 3 years under cover in Everett and now under cover Tacoma. Her teak decks are in fantastic shape, with no teak on the cabin tops fore and aft. The forward hatch is metal/acrylic, not wood, so another improvement in terms of keeping moisture out. This boat is dry and very clean.
She's powered by twin Perkins 4-236 diesels with 4,500 hours each. 2 years ago a major service included new alternators, new wiring, new batteries, and new motor mounts. Her 2 fuel tanks have also been replaced. Her last bottom paint was done just over a year ago.
Defense Rests has a gorgeous wood interior, with all teak in excellent condition. The aft cabin has a double bunk to port and a single on the starboard side. The ladder to the aft entrance has been hinged so that when stored in the up position there is easy access to the custom cabinetry built underneath (see photo).
Other highlights include:
- New shore power connection and new cord
- New toilets in both heads and new sanitation hoses throughout
- Spare propellers (2)
- Replaced cockpit scupper drains
- New canvas (2017) - flybridge bimini, lee cloths, window covers and aft winter cover
- Kayak and dinghy plus a 3 hp Yamaha outboard (2-stroke)
- Re-bedded all perimeter stanchion bases, cabin-top rail bases, and side-of-the-hull rub rails
- Dripless shaft seals
- New water pump impellers and fresh zincs (April, 2019)
This boat is moored under cover at the Tacoma, with transferability of this slip to a new owner easily accomplished.
A twin motor CHB is a highly desirable boat, so don't wait to come review this outstanding vessel.
